Besides that, albums are a great source of passive income. If you're going to put energy into shooting a wedding, editing the images, and delivering a beautiful gallery - why not maximize your efforts with an album that can bring you extra $$$? If you're not sure how to sell albums to almost every couple, these tips are for you:

1. Pre-sell albums early on in your communication

Warm up your clients to the idea of albums ahead of time. You certainly don't want to drop it on them right before the wedding day, or worse - when delivering the galleries. Share a demo video in the very first email, showcasing the album's design, page quality, color options, and cover alternatives. If your clients see the album as a potential deliverable, they will have something to look forward to, and are more likely to purchase one.

2. Be clear on what you're offering

Set up a process of ordering albums and communicate about it clearly on your website. What are the available sizes, material, number of pages, terms, rates, what are the steps, etc.? To make it more compelling, add real client testimonials, video, or written.

Struggling to compile all the information into an elegant page on your website? Try one of our pre-made Albums Sales Pages. It's super simple: add it to your Squarespace 7.1 website in a matter of minutes, include your own details and branding and you're ready to share it with your clients.

3. Shift the mindset from SELLING to OFFERING VALUE

Since albums are something couples have to pay for on top of the shoot, there is a certain risk you'll sound salesy when mentioning them. Change the perspective from sell-sell-sell to the incredible value a wedding album brings. No matter how amazing and convenient are online galleries, nothing beats the feeling of opening an actual photo album, 10-15 years down the road and sharing those memories and stories with your kids and grandkids. An album truly is a cherished family heritage for decades to come. Be sure to talk about this value on your website or sales page.

Another tip is to bring a real album to the first meeting. That way the couple can flip through pages and want something similar for themselves.

4. Offer more than one option

Always offer multiple album options: whether it's related to size, number of pages, or quality of the paper. This is a great way to make the clients feel like they are in control of their budget.

Many photographers include albums directly into their wedding packages. In this case, albums are not perceived as something clients have to pay extra for, but rather as something nice they receive on top. You can add a standard album into your package but have the option to add extras - in case the client wants more pages, a bigger album size, or a better quality paper. When they receive the gorgeous images from their wedding, and they have to pick which images go into the album, chances are - they will upgrade to a more expensive album option.

5. Give discounts when purchased in bulk

What can be a better gift for your parents or grandparents than a bespoke album from your wedding? Offer this option to your couples, and give a discount when they buy 2 or more albums in bulk. Everybody loves discounts and everybody loves to make their parents happy. Need we say more?
