New Squarespace 7.1 designs: how they are different & why you'll love them

This fall, we're thrilled to launch 4 unmatched designs for Squarespace 7.1. Böreal, Tuscany, Martini and Ava Moss are tailored for photographers, videographers, interior designers, creative teams and educators. This time around, we tried to REALLY bend Squarespace limits and are introducing something extremely cool an innovative. If you get a headache at the thought of building a website. If you don't consider yourself technical, but at the same time you crave to implement your creative ideas onto a website that expresses your personality to a T - this collection is for you. What’s new

Within all the designs in this collection, we've integrated 2 game-changing features that will greatly simplify your website building process.

1. No more Squarespace Section IDs

All of our design kits use custom code to achieve the most creative ideas and interactive functionality. To be able to implement the code, previously, we've used native Squarespace 7.1 sections ID's "to tell" the custom code where to apply style and functionality. Since the section IDs are unique, and each time a page or a section is duplicated the section ID had to be introduced into the code. Which we know can be tedious. Our new collection bypasses Squarespace section IDs, so you can easily duplicate whole pages without worrying that you need to make adjustments in the code.

Each section now has its own HTML ID, which our team has written for each block. This allows for more universal categorization of the sections, without the need to make adjustments in the custom code, whenever you create duplicates.

2. A Block and Page Template Library

Once you enable the Block Library, you access a listing of all the design kit's demo sections, categorized by pages and available to be implemented instantly. It's very similar to Squarespace's native predefined blocks library. Just add any section to any page within seconds. Since we do not use Squarespace 7.1 section ID, you can effortlessly duplicate any block and reuse them across pages on your site.

The Page Template Library lets you access all the demo pages available inside your design kit. You can reuse them at any time, and don't have to worry if you accidentally remove a section or a page and would like to restore it. Our 2022 roadmap is to update all our 7.1 designs to the new code structure which allows the Block Library functionality. We'll keep you and all our existing users updated, once we have specific next steps.
